Bringing joy to the community
Happiness is not only meant to be tasted; it's meant to be felt through the actions of our people and our company. We're in the business of spreading good vibes in our own Burger Joys way, and have been awarded the Caring Company Logo in 2016 and 2017 because of our efforts. How did we do it? Read on!
We're proud of employing people from a wide range of interests, backgrounds and experiences - including local Chinese and individuals from ethnic minority groups. That's why our servers can speak a wide range of languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Bahasa, Tagalog, etc.
We hire by personality and believe in working with a multicultural team because in our experience, it produces great results. Our expectations are simple: be friendly, have a positive attitude and, of course, have the right skills for the position you're applying for.
Part of our founder Manu Lee's philosophy is to pick at least one day a year to help those in need, and to give whenever we receive.
We collaborate yearly with Holy Carpenter Church to visit the homes of single elderly, and sponsor the Chinese Ice Hockey League (CIHL) in Hong Kong. We've also donated money to non-profit U-Hearts for constructing a school in China - a project that was completed in May 2016.
When it comes to saving the planet, we want to be part of the solution! That's why we use LED lights in our restaurants to minimize electricity usage, and insist on using biodegradable paper packaging rather than plastic wherever we can.
Our next step? Finding biodegradable utensils and paper straws. We're currently looking for options, so feel free to hit us up if you have any recommendations!
